Roasted chestnuts in cinnamon butter

Ingredients

  • 600g (about 24) chestnuts
  • 30g butter
  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Sea salt flakes, to sprinkle

Method

    Preheat oven to 200°C. Cut a cross in the flat side of each chestnut. Place on a large baking tray and roast for 20 minutes. Wrap in a clean tea towel. Cool slightly. Peel.

    Melt butter in a large frying pan over medium heat. Stir in chestnuts, sugar and cinnamon for 2 minutes or until combined. Transfer to a bowl. Sprinkle with sea salt.
